City Centre
Wolverhampton is one of Britain's newest cities having became a ‘Millennium City’ in the year 2000 but its city centre reflects the 1000 year history with magnificent buildings, churches and open spaces to complement the thriving shopping and leisure facilities.
As one of the major retail centres in the West Midlands Region, Wolverhampton has around 1m sq ft of retail space with both big name stores and around 200 independents making Wolverhampton a more interesting place to shop.
The city centre attracts around 30 million visitors a year and with a host of leisure and cultural facilities, clubs, bars, restaurants and cafés Wolverhampton City Centre is a vibrant and thriving place to live, work, shop and visit.
The city centre has a traditional feel with both open and pedestrianised streets along with two indoor shopping centres and a market; it benefits from good motorway access and a central location with a mainline station and a direct Metro link to Birmingham.
